Our Rental Security Deposit Assistance Program is designed to support individuals and families facing financial challenges in securing safe and stable housing. We understand that the initial costs associated with renting a home can be a significant barrier. To help alleviate this burden, we offer a one-time payment of up to $500 per program year for eligible applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Income Requirements: Applicants must meet specific income guidelines to qualify for assistance. Household income must be between 150% -200% of the federal poverty level. 
  • Residency Status: Applicants must be current residents or moving into a property within Montgomery County, OH.
  • Rental Agreement: A valid rental agreement or lease must be presented as part of the application process.

How to Apply

  1. Complete the Application: Fill out the online application form available on our website. Ensure all required fields and supporting documents are submitted.
  2. Submit Required Documentation: Provide proof of income, identification, and a copy of your rental agreement or lease, and past due notice if applicable. 
  3. Application Review: Our team will review your application and supporting documents to determine eligibility.
  4. Receive Assistance: Once approved, the $500 payment will be made directly to your landlord to cover a portion of your security deposit.
